Variance commentary, checked against your data.
Upload a file. ReportForge computes the numbers from it, you explain the material moves, and it writes the report. Each cited figure is checked against your data, and anything it cannot confirm is flagged.

The numbers are done. The write-up is the slow part.
After the close, someone still has to say why each line moved, write it up, and make sure every number in the write-up matches the schedule.
ReportForge computes the figures, writes the commentary from your explanations, and checks the figures it cited. You supply the reasons.
Three steps. The whole cycle.
One row per account (or per product for price-volume-mix), in the column format for the report. If a row has a problem, ReportForge lists it and creates nothing.
Variances and bridges are computed from your data. You give the reason for each material move and say whether it is one-time or recurring.
The AI writes from a fixed list of computed figures. Each cited figure is read back against your data. Anything unconfirmed is flagged, and the report page shows a trust score from 0 to 100.

Analyze period-over-period flux
Upload prior and current balances side by side. We compute the variance and surface which material moves still need a reason.
- One row per account, with the prior and current amounts side by side.
- Compare month over month, quarter over quarter, year over year or the same period last year.
- You explain the accounts that moved materially, one at a time.
- Start next period carries on from a finalized one.
Compare budget to actual
Upload budget and actual balances side by side for a period. We compute the variance and surface which material moves still need a reason.
- One row per account, with the budget and the actual for a period.
- A fiscal year of up to 12 periods, with an optional full-year budget.
- Periods are finalized in order, and the report has a year-to-date section from the second period.
Bridge price, volume and mix
Upload prior and current period units and revenue by product. We bridge the revenue change into price, volume, and mix effects, and surface which products still need something.
- One row per product, with units and revenue for two periods.
- The revenue change is split into price, volume and mix, plus new and discontinued products.
- Three methods; the default is Standard.
- A reason link lets a colleague outside your account explain a product.

Less rebuilding. More explaining.
You still decide why each material line moved. ReportForge takes over the computing, the write-up and the check.
| Step | Today | With ReportForge |
|---|---|---|
| Variance columns | Rebuilt every cycle | Computed when you upload |
| Explanations | Written from scratch | You give the reason; it writes it up |
| Numbers in the narrative | Retyped by hand | Computed from your file |
| Knowing it's right | Checked by hand | Cited figures checked against your data |
| Next period | Start over | Carry on from the finalized period |
Numbers come from your data, not from the AI.
The AI is given the computed figures as facts to restate. It may not state a number, name or ranking that is not in your data.
Figures that match are marked verified. Anything unverified shows a Draft banner and is listed in the Fact check, and a report with an untied figure cannot be published.
Numbers you type into an explanation are checked against that line’s own figures. If none match, they stay labelled as your number.
